‘Born Free’ Game Reserve – Motorola Radio System
Field Director Tony Fitzjohn of the ‘George Adamson Wildlife Preservation Trust’ narrowly escaped a fatal bout of malaria in the ‘Born Free’ game reserve at Mkomazi, Tanzania. His two-way radio link via a Motorola radio system enabled the flying doctor to speak directly to base camp. The doctor was then able to pass on life-saving instructions to his colleagues during the 80 mile flight.
The Motorola radio system was installed and is currently maintained by COMSCO, UK.
